You found me! This is a personal site for Chris Wilhelm, a IT professional, hobbyist programmer, and (so i'm told) sometimes funny guy in Nebraska. Current experince in Proxmox, VMware, and RHEL based Linux distros.

What I Do: I work as an IT Support Specialist, working internal since August 2024. Before that, I held multiple roles in the MSP space from 2020 - 24. On the certification side, I hold my CCNA and Fortinet NSE4, along with two Microsoft certifications. I'm currently working toward a B.S. in Information Technology, and I've pursued the RHCSA and AWS Solutions Architect Associate as part of a deliberate push to round out my skills across networking, security, Linux systems, and cloud. I'm also genuinely interested in the bigger picture of where IT careers are headed — particularly how AI is reshaping entry-level pipelines in the field I'm building a career in.

On the personal IT side, I'm working on building my current homelab for whatever continuing learning I can find for myself. Currently the lab consists of a single Dell R720 Proxmox node, but I'm working on migrating to multiple workstations (such as M720Qs), which would give the benefit of redundancy and hopefully save some space compared the current very large rack taking up space in my living room.

Beyond the IT side, I'm always down for whatever books I can get my hands on. I'm also currently taking classes improv (Yes, and), and sometimes vaugely looking like I know what I'm doing when playing board games.
